Im Flüchtlingslager von Cox Bazar in Bangladesch leben 821’000 Rohingya Flüchtlinge, 55% davon sind Kinder. Schätzungsweise 70% der Kinder wurden missbraucht, 90% sind traumatisiert.

Rights Jessore, unser Projektpartner vor Ort, hat mithilfe von Chance Swiss ein «Child Friendly Space» für 500 Kinder und Jugendliche aufgebaut und eröffnet. Die Kinder sind mit Schuluniformen, Lernmaterialien, einer Kulturtasche und Spielsachen ausgestattet worden.

Wie dringend notwendig unsere Hilfe vor Ort ist zeigt die Geschichte vom 6 Jahre alten Reaz:
“Reaz is a victim of brutality by Myanmar Arm forces. While Reaz and his family was trying to escape Myanmar to Bangladesh at the fear of torture and abuse, The Burmese Army opened fired on them. Reaz’s father Aiyatulla was killed on spot and Reaz received severe bullet injury. Then somehow Reaz mother came to the border, carrying the injured boy leaving the dead body of her husband (Reaz ’s Father). The Bangladesh Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel sent Reaz to Hospital in Bangladesh. After medical Care in Bangladesh hospital, Reaz left hand took a bad shape and Reaz keep it usually covered with a piece of cloth. The fatherless minor now lives in a shed at Block-E in Camp 19 where the BONO Direct AID and Chance Swiss Supported CFS of Rights Jessore is located . Reaz is one of the 1st 100 hundred children to get bags, dress and other support from our project.”
